Let’s Get Together Before Annual Conference is an event to rally ALL North Texas Youth for music, games and pizza then to caravan and sit together at Opening Worship of Annual Conference. Gather at FUMC Allen from 3:30-6pm then travel to Opening Worship at Custer Road which will begin at 7pm.

$5 per person online or at the door.

Youth must come with 1 Adult for every 7 Youth.

Churches must provide their own transportation from FUMC Allen to Custer Road.

Scholarship and Grant Resources from GBOD

There are several resources that the General Board of Discipleship provides through Young Peoples Ministry to support youth ministries in local churches. Below, you will find links that will give you detailed information about these programs.

The deadline for YPM’s Grants and Scholarships is June 1st.

All of the details can be found on http://globalyoungpeople.org/.  Here is a short version for now.

Scholarships:

The Self and Smith scholarships are for US students entering their first year of undergraduate study, and the Smith is designated for racial/ethnic minority youth. They have the same application form, and here’s the link.

International Scholarshipsare for United Methodist International students attending a university within their country. The application is available in English, Portuguese, Russian, French and German, and here’s where you can find those http://globalyoungpeople.org/grants-scholarship/international-scholarship/

Grants (Both grants are for, by, and with young people, and they can be for new or existing ministries):

Grants for Ministries with Young Peoplesupports United Methodist youth and young adults with creative and innovative ministry ideas. There’s a US application and one for Central Conferences found here.

Youth Service Fund has grants available to any organization that includes youth (ages 12-18 in

the states and 12-30 internationally) in every aspect of its ministry. Check out YSF’s website or Facebook page for some fun details, pictures, applications, etc.

Noel Memorial United Methodist Church ( www.noelumc.org), an active church of 1200 located in Shreveport, Louisiana with approximately 325 members in worship, is seeking a Full-time Director of Youth Ministries. Noel has a long history of excellence in youth ministry and is committed to investing in the lives of youth and families. The church has a growing youth ministry program that focuses on Sunday mornings, UMY on Sunday night, midweek band practice, mission opportunities and district and conference events. Noel UMC youth ministry has a tradition of following an annual schedule of major events, trips, retreats, and mission trips.
The Director of Youth Ministries will lead the youth ministry for youth in grades 6-12, drawing students into a journey of faith, preparing them for lifelong discipleship and inspiring them to carry the love of Christ into the community. The youth ministry program is already staffed with paid part-time youth ministry associates and a team of dedicated adult and parent volunteers, making it possible for the new Director of Youth Ministries to focus on building relationships with youth and plan for the growth of the ministry.

Our new coverage requires that we recognize MinistrySafe as the official resource for Safety Awareness. MinistrySafe replaces the former Safe Sanctuaries training, and it is imperative that representatives or teams of representatives attend this event.
